The frequencies given here are only for meeting others, please QSY a bit to keep the ball rolling. If you are rock bound, don't give up, we will find you. Let's show the amateur community that AM is alive and well. This is the best chance of the year to hear a wide variety of vintage gear, and to talk to some of the friendliest people on the air. While use of older tube and solid state gear is encouraged, we also want to welcome people using modern solid state gear, home brew Class D and E gear, or Flex Radio equipment as well.

Please use consideration in your choice of bandwidth for conditions. It is still all AM mode, which is enjoying a robust recovery using a variety of methods.

Date: Saturday, February 20, 2016 @ 2300 GMT to Sunday, February 21, 2016 2300 GMT

Objective: To promote and encourage the use of AM as a mode of operation in ham radio, and, above all, to have fun.

Frequencies: 1.885 - 1.945, 3.835 – 3.890, 7.260 – 7.295, 14.275 – 14.295 and 14.320 – 14.345

Exchange:Name, state, (province, or country). That keeps the log simple, but don't be afraid to talk about your station, or to ask about another station. This contest is about fun, above all. Nobody cares about your QSO rate. Even if you only make a few contacts, please send in a log so that we will know who is participating and we can track the frequencies and locations that are used.

Scoring and Classes: Stations running 100 watts or less carrier OUTPUT, each contact counts as 2 points. Stations running more than 100 watts count as 1 point. All 20 meter contacts count 5 points regardless of power output. You may contact each station only once per band. See extra points for the Flagship stations below.

Flagship Stations: There will be two authorized flagship stations participating in the AM QSO Party. These stations will not be included in the final standings. Their scores will be listed separately in the results. W2AN is the AWA Museum and this call will be used by various volunteer stations in the contest. The other call sign W1HRX will be operating courtesy of the James Millen society. The first contact with a flagship station counts 10 points, all subsequent contacts are 1 point.

Logs: There is a summary log sheet posted on the AWA web site. It is not necessary to send your entire log, only the summary sheet is necessary. Even if you only make a few contacts, please send in a log sheet so you can be counted as a participant.

Everything is ready as planned for our departure on February 17th, 2016. We anticipate arriving at Los Island (AF051) in the morning of Thursday 18th.

The island does not have a power grid; our resort has a generator operating only during the night.

We rented two generators for daylight operations; as a consequence, there might be occasional breaks for the maintenance of this equipment.

We received several requests for RTTY activity. In order to offer such a “mode new one” to as many OMs as possible, we shall concentrate our RTTY operations on a single band, i.e. 15m.

In analyzing statistical data, we noticed that there is a high demand for this country in VK/ZL.

These stations are invited to use the cluster to warn us of possible openings.

Long-path openings to Japan will be closely monitored, and we suggest these stations to make use of propagation forecasts to optimize their chances.

We plan to have, as usual, our real-time online Log available via internet, with uploads every minute (barring connection problems). It can be accessed at the address http://win.i2ysb.com/logonline.

Also, the online QSL request (OQRS) will be active as from the very first QSO.

We advise to check the time/date of the latest online update, as shown on the Log entry page, before repeating a QSO.

Specific requests should be addressed ONLY to our pilot stations, IK7JWY Arturo and IK0FTA Sergio

(for the 6m band). The pilot stations can check and correct possible Log errors.

During the DXpedition do NOT send mail to I2YSB or other Team members, such messages will not be answered.

14th Russian WW PSK Contest 2016

Dear Fellow Radio Amateurs,

The Russian Digital Radio Club has the honour to invite the radio amateurs all over the world to participate in the 14th Russian WW PSK Contest 2016. The objective of the contest is to establish as many contacts as possible between radio amateurs around the world and radio amateurs in Russia.

We invite all fans of digital modes to take part in contest from 12.00 UTC on Saturday 20th February till 11:59 UTC on Sunday 21st February, 2016.

Types of modulation: BPSK31, BPSK63, BPSK125. The repeated contacts are permitted on different bands and different modes providing that a contact will be made not earlier than in 3 minutes. The output power should not exceed 10 watts on 160 meters and 100 watts on other bands. The operator may change the bands no more than 10 times within calendar hour (with zero on 59-th minute of each hour). Only one transmitted signal is permitted at any time. Bands: 160 m, 80 m, 40 m, 20 m, 15 m, 10 m.

EPC recommends the following frequencies - 1.840 - 1.843 MHz, 3.582 - 3.590, 7.040 - 7.050 MHz, 14.072 - 14.080 MHz, 21.072 - 21.080 MHz, 28.072 - 28.080 MHz.

Categories (subgroup):

MOAB - MULTI-ONE - Multi-Operator, Single Transmitter, All Bands - Club stations and SES stations;
SOAB - SINGLE-OP ALL - Single-Operator, All Bands;

JARL 90th Anniversary Award

The Japan Amateur Radio League (JARL) was established in 1926, and we are in the 90th year. To commemorate this special occasion, JARL issues a special award named "JARL 90th Anniversary Award."

Requirements

	J For contacts with Japanese amateur stations with 9 different Prefixes.
	A For contacts with 9 different cities or ku of Japan.
	R For contacts with 9 different Guns of Japan.
	L For contacts with 9 different prefectures of Japan.
	*90th* For contacts with 90 different amateur stations. If you contacted with JARL Special commemoration stations of 90th anniversary, you may count it as nine of its required points.
