Last news

Everything is ready as planned for our departure on February 17th, 2016. We anticipate arriving at Los Island (AF051) in the morning of Thursday 18th. 

The island does not have a power grid; our resort has a generator operating only during the night.

We rented two generators for daylight operations; as a consequence, there might be occasional breaks for the maintenance of this equipment.

 

We received several requests for RTTY activity. In order to offer such a “mode new one” to as many OMs as possible, we shall concentrate our RTTY operations on a single band, i.e. 15m.

 

In analyzing statistical data, we noticed that there is a high demand for this country in VK/ZL.

These stations are invited to use the cluster to warn us of possible openings.

 

Long-path openings to Japan will be closely monitored, and we suggest these stations to make use of propagation forecasts to optimize their chances.

 

We plan to have, as usual, our real-time online Log available via internet, with uploads every minute (barring connection problems). It can be accessed at the address http://win.i2ysb.com/logonline.

Also, the online QSL request (OQRS) will be active as from the very first QSO.

We advise to check the time/date of the latest online update, as shown on the Log entry page, before repeating a QSO.

 

Specific requests should be addressed ONLY to our pilot stations, IK7JWY Arturo and IK0FTA Sergio

(for the 6m band). The pilot stations can check and correct possible Log errors.

 

During the DXpedition do NOT send mail to I2YSB or other Team members, such messages will not be answered.

The Italian DXpedition Team is pleased to announce its next DXpedition. Unlike some of its previous activities this trip is dedicated to a specific event: the recent authorization for the usage of 6 meter band in Republic of Kenya.

Using this frequency the team will dedicate its effort to a less time on HF compared to others recent activations.

The trip is planned for the 21st of May until the 31st  of May 2015 and the crew will use the call 5ZØL.

The Radioamateur Association of the Democratic Republic of Congo (ARAC) has invited the

Italian DXpedition Team for a short stay in Kinshasa during March 2015.

Purpose of the activity will be theoretical and practical traning and refresher courses for the

Amateurs of the DR of Congo.

The call of the operation will be 9Q0HQ.

TY1AA una operazione finita bene !

Si è appena conclusa l'attività dal Benin TY1AA del gruppo capitanato da Silvano (I2YSB) e Soci che come al solito hanno fatto felici molti Radioamatori permettendo di collegare questo country africano dai 160 ai 6 Mt.

C'è da rimarcare, non per colpa del Team ma della propagazione, la scarsa possibilità di effettuare QSO sulle bande basse causa QRM locale ma il plauso va ai Colleghi per l'attività svolta sulle altre bande. I 6 Mt,in particolare sono sempre oggetto di molta attenzione del Team procurando gioe ai cultori della Magic Band.

Ancora una volta lo score  oltre 81.0000 qso del Team è di tutti rispetto a riprova, ve ne fosse la necessità delle esperienza e capacità messe in capo non solo da chi opera sul posto ma da chi li supporta.

Grazie ancora una volta a tutta la squadra dell'Italian DXpedition Team !!
